Commercial and Industrial LED Lighting

Investing in Commercial LED Lighting for Your Business

LEDs are profoundly changing the future of lighting for the commercial and industrial sectors. The light-emitting diode (LED) is being hailed as one of the most energy-efficient, environmentally-considerate and cost-effective lighting technologies for businesses today. Apart from significant cost savings, the LED revolution is also markedly affecting the environmental footprint of such operations. RealTerm Energy can show you how your organization can benefit from both reduced energy costs and a positive effect on our environment.

Why Switch to LEDs

Why Switch to LEDs?

While LED technology is continually evolving, current LED tubes and fixtures provide for significant savings to existing T-12, T-8 and T-5 fluorescent tubes as well as high-pressure sodium and other HID Lighting.

This results in lower costs for commercial and industrial entities seeking a better way to light their businesses.

RealTerm Energy’s commercial and industrial clients are already experiencing this and other benefits:

Return on Investment (ROI)

ROI is one of the leading benefits of commercial LED lighting implementation. In many business cases, simple payback is under 3 years and, depending on certain factors, can even be under 2. Additional benefits include improved lighting for employees to increase productivity.

ROI

Government and Utility Support – Subsidies

Many government agencies and utilities are now supporting the introduction of new LED technologies through very attractive subsidy programs. RealTerm Energy has the expertise to identify these programs, calculate how to optimize the benefits through tailored design and undertake the application process required to maximize these incentives.

Controls

Commercial LED lighting offers unmatched control over a lighting environment with the use of various technologies including dimming, timers, occupancy sensors, daylighting and smart phone optimization.

Adaptability

LED lights can be used for any purpose within any areas (internally or externally) of your facilities.

Energy Efficiency

LEDs offer 50%-80% more energy efficiency than traditional lighting.

Color-Tunable Interior Luminaires

Tunable lighting can provide for a range of color temperature from 2,700K to 6,500K to be programed based upon the time of day. The kind of color change, type of color module, control protocol options and driver options, must all be understood and specified to allow for an optimum installation.

Increased Lifespan – Decreased Maintenance Costs

Increased Lifespan – Decreased Maintenance Costs

LEDs are designed to operate between 50,000 to 100,000 hours, while traditional lighting usually lasts from only 1,000 to 3,000 hours. In addition, due to LED solid-state technology, the failure rate for each tube or luminaire delivered by respected manufacturers is typically less than 1% per year. As a result, the industry standard warranty provided by most LED manufacturers is 5 to 10 years (parts only) depending upon the type of product, manufacturer and price point. This ultimately contributes to a lower, overall life-cycle cost for a project.

Did you know? By 2027, widespread use of LEDs could save almost 348 terawatt-hours of electricity. This equals an annual electrical output of 44 large electric power plants (1000 megawatts each) and a total savings of more than $30 billion.
