RealTerm Energy is excited to announce the installation of light-emitting diode (LED) streetlights in the Township of Schreiber in Ontario. The upgrade to these energy-efficient LED streetlights is expected to reduce 66% in the township's streetlight energy costs and 67% in streetlight energy consumption in the first year with LEDs. Installation of the new 241-streetlight system begins in September 2014.
Schreiber’s Town Council had researched the savings LEDs provide and brought in Local Authority Services (LAS) and RealTerm Energy to oversee the entire project. “We wanted to do the upgrade sooner rather than later because we wanted to take advantage of this savings as soon as possible,” said Schreiber’s Chief Administrative Officer Don McArthur. “We also knew it was a decision that could last 20 years, so we wanted to make sure we did it right, and we were confident in the research from LAS and RealTerm Energy.”
